San Siro, Beppe Sala on the Inter and Milan stadium: the mayor’s words

The mayor on the fate of the Meazza: “In recent years we have seen everything, the contacts with the clubs are continuous”

Giuseppe Sala still believes it. Of course, Milan has officially purchased the land in San Donato Milanese on which the next home stadium should be built, but the mayor of Milan is not letting go. On the sidelines of the commemoration of the victims of the foibe, the mayor confirmed that the chance of the clubs’ stay at the Giuseppe Meazza have not completely disappeared: “I don’t lose faith in the possibility of saving San Siro”.

The mayor then continued: “I believe that it is still an open game, in recent years we have seen everything. I understand that what Milan has done is a step forward and we have already said it but, I repeat, I continue to be confident and maintain dialogue with the clubs. If I didn’t see possibilities for San Siro on their part, I would look for other solutions, but in my opinion they still have it. Contacts are continuous with Inter and Milan. The game is still open.” No final whistle on the matter, then.
