Samuli Samuelsson was far from his best – Silja Kosonen’s Finnish success of the day

On Friday evening, we competed in athletics in the EC team competitions in Poland. Finland participated in the competitions in the first division.

Mette Baas was fourth in his race in the 400 meters. However, Baas lost to all the runners in the A start and was 12th in the overall competition. Viljami Kaasalainen was fifth in his race and 13th in the overall competition in the men’s 400 m run.

In the women’s 5000m run Camilla Richardson ran with his season’s best result of 15:34.74 to finish seventh in the competition. Reigning European Champion Top Raitanen ran sluggishly in the 3000 meter steeplechase to tenth place.

Salla Sipponen finished eighth in the discus throw with a result of 52.88. Juho Alasaari pole vaulted 5.45.

Joonas Rinne finished last in his group in the 800-meter run and finished 14th in the overall competition. Lotta Kemppainen was third in his heat in the 100 meter run with a result of 11.45. The time was the eleventh fastest in the overall competition.

A shot putter Eveliina Rouvali was sixth in his own competition with a result of 17.08. Shot put won Auriol Dongmo with a result of 19.07.

The competitions in Poland continue tomorrow. Among other things Wilma Murto, Reetta Hurske and Kristiina Mäkelä will compete tomorrow.
