After parting ways with Barcelona, French defender Samuel Umtiti, whose new club is curious, has returned to France.
Umtiti, who spent last season on loan in Lecce, reached an agreement with Lille, the team of our national star Yusuf Yazıcı. He signed an official contract with Umtiti, who passed his health checks.
Umtiti, who signed for 25 million euros from Olympique Lyon to Barcelona in 2016, was on the decline in his career due to injuries he suffered. The 29-year-old player, who played 25 games in Lecce, where he was loaned last season, was one of the key figures of the defense in the French squad that won the World Cup in 2018.
