Sample catch: Customs intercepts 5,000 kg of cocaine in the port of Zeebrugge, street value of at least 250 million
The large amount of drugs was discovered on Tuesday evening during a customs check. It is not known whether this was an accidental or a targeted check. The cocaine would have been hidden in a load of fruit.
Five people were arrested as a result of the drug bust, but it is not clear what their possible role in the facts could be. The Bruges investigating judge will have to decide on their possible arrest by Thursday evening at the latest.
