Sampha announces new album LAHAI for October 2023 and tour

The British musician will also be coming to Germany for a gig in December 2023.

Sampha’s new album LAHAI will be released on October 20th. With his current single “Only”, the British singer shows what you can expect from his new record. In a press release, the artist describes his sound as a combination of the genres of jazz, soul, rap, dance, jungle and West African music. The title of his work LAHAI is not only his grandfather’s name, but also his own middle name.

For the 14 tracks of his second studio album, Sampha received musical support from, among others, the singer Léa Sen, the black midi drummer Morgan Simpson and the English musician Laura Groves.

The singer also announced an accompanying tour, which will begin on October 12th with a three-day residency at London’s Hackney Church. After the North American shows, the artist will also come to Germany for a concert on December 4th, where he will perform at the Theater des Westens in Berlin. Advance sales start on September 15th ticketmaster.

Sampha is known, among other things, for his collaborations with Kendrick Lamar, Frank Ocean and Solange. Before his 2017 debut album PROCESS, the singer released his two EPs SUNDANZA and DUAL.
