Sami Jauhojärvi had time to close his card before the scammer got the money.
PASSI FLAME
Former skier Sami Jauhojärvi says social media accounts have been scammed.
Jauhojärvi sold toilet furniture on the Tori.fi service. Shortly after the announcement was published, the ex-skier received a message in Finnish in the Whatsapp application, in which the buyer candidate asked for more information about the condition of the products.
The person promised to pay for the product by cash on delivery. After receiving the payment, the “courier” would pick up the products.
Jauhojärvi got a link from the scammer to a real-looking Post page. The chat service on the site asked for your credit card information to receive payment.
– I thought there was a new payment system like Mobilepay again, and my negligence typed in my bank card details to receive the payment. If I had been more specific, I would have noticed that it was not a posti.fi website but a Posti-fi website. The next step, when my account balance was asked, I realized I had been scammed.

Jauhojärvi, who works as a Viaplay ski expert, lied to the scammer about technical problems and immediately called the card lockout service.
Soon the scammer began to ask where Jauhojärvi’s payment, or bank details, was staying.
– The messages started to come at a pretty fast pace, because the faster they get to use the information of the victim of the scam, the more damage there will be! After amortising the card, I typed an imaginary amount on a scam site, after which the next step was to query the bank IDs.
Luckily in the accident, Jauhojärvi did not lose money in the scam.
– The scammer (s) did not have time to make a margin call from my account, so waiting for a new card is the biggest loss, in addition to mental embarrassment and annoyance.
Lake Jauhojärvi wants to share its story so that others avoid the same scam.
– So be careful and don’t be careless like me when handing over payment card information! At least I learned to be more specific myself, and not so blue-eyed! I will also report the crime to the police!
Several scams

Postal warns of several scams on their real websitesalso from the chilling game experienced by Jauhojärvi.
According to the post office, the pattern is the same: people selling their goods on Internet marketplaces have been approached on Whatsapp, for example. The scammer claims to have passed the payment to the seller via Posti and sends a link to a scam page reminiscent of Posti’s pages.
Among other things, the page ending in Posti.shop is a scam.
The purpose is to phish the seller’s bank or personal information. The police instruct you not to open a vague link or provide your own information.
If you have already provided the card or online banking information, you should contact the bank immediately and report the matter to the police.
