The agreement with De Laurentiis’ club was close, but a survey conducted by the Juventus sporting director made the player reflect. Who ultimately remained at Udinese
It all happened in a few hours, during the hottest days of the January transfer window. And the idea, rather than an actual negotiation, was enough to overturn a market scenario that seemed quite addressed. There was only one contact between Samardzic and Juventus, a gathering of information which aimed first of all to probe the player’s willingness to evaluate a transfer proposal in the future: this was enough, in the phase in which the dialogues between the footballer and Napoli were unable to evolve to reach closure, to postpone any type of decision for the future. Perhaps little to talk about a slight from the current technical director of Juventus towards its former president De Laurentiis, but certainly the sudden collapse of the deal will not have improved the perception of their relationship.
