Samantha Steenwijk causes astonishment with her performance during Holland Zingt Hazes. The ‘live stream’ on Videoland betrayed that she sang extremely out of tune, according to Yvonne Coldeweijer.
The Holland Zingt Hazes concert in which André Hazes Jr. made his comeback last Friday was broadcast live on Videoland. Well, live… The registration was about half an hour behind. Why actually? Yvonne Coldeweijer, who has years of singing experience as a musical artist and face of RTL Telekids, explains.
‘It’s all fake!’
Yvonne tells in a video on Youtube that the performing artists first went through the autotune. “I was completely shocked by our friend ‘Samanth’. Did you notice that everyone who was singing during the show got auto-tuned in post-processing? So they announced it was live, but it wasn’t live at all!”
She continues: “There was half an hour in between and you know how the media is, you know how this works: it’s all fake, okay? Why is this being broadcast on TV? Why do the artists allow this? Because it was promised that their voices would go through post-processing just as fast. I could hear that right away.”
False notes
You can easily remove the falsely singing stars, says Yvonne. “It is true: the more out of tune you sing, the more you hear the post-processing. You know, that electronic edge that you hear, you only hear that if the note is out of tune. Then they pull the note up or down, that depends on which way you sing out of tune.”
According to the juice queen, there is nothing wrong with autotune. “I also get it: you are on stage and cannot sing every note flawlessly.”
‘Really super fake!’
However, there is a difference between not singing every note flawlessly and being completely wrong, says Yvonne. “I saw our friends Gerard Joling and Jeroen van der Boom and here and there you heard: ooh, it’s been edited, but, you know, it wasn’t too bad. Until our girlfriend came on stage.”
According to her, Samantha has really fallen through the basket completely. “What the f*ck, Samantha? Samantha, what’s going on? This was really awesome! This was even false through post-processing! Wow, that wasn’t good…”
