Samantha Steenwijk does not take the criticism of her frequent TV appearances seriously. She does not recognize herself in the image that she would appear too often in the media. “And there’s a button on your TV!”
Samantha Steenwijk is regularly criticized for having to watch out for overkill. She seems to be a singer, but we hardly see her singing on TV. We do see her in abundance in Dutch celebrities quizzes and behind jury tables. And according to critics, she can dose it a bit.
Samantha angry
Samantha always reacts very annoyed to that criticism. The reason? She has those typical Dutch celebrities: long, very long. “Lately it has been written about you that there is talk of overkill, you would be on TV too much. What do you think of that?”, the Weekend asks her this week.
Then she says angrily: “That’s allowed, I don’t care. You know, those people will never be my fans anyway, because they would never call it an overkill. Fortunately, we have a lot of buttons on the remote control, so you can set up another channel in no time.”
‘I like TV’
For the time being, Samantha continues to seek out the spotlight. “A lot of things are coming up. I can’t say much about it. It’s both singing and TV and I really like making TV. I enjoy doing that and getting better at it.”
Maybe even a soap opera of your own? “No, I don’t see my own reality show happening any time soon. That is a major invasion of your privacy. My life is already partly in the spotlight. I like to keep that a bit private.”
Not serious
So no TV soap about Samantha, as far as that would be interesting. That’s good news for all those people who see her a little too often on television.
Does she have a message for those people? “You also hear people say: ‘How sad for all the people who now have no work’. Fortunately, I do have a job on television that I earn from, but then it would be too much. I don’t even take those people seriously.”
