Salzburg celebrates first win against Dinamo Zagreb

Chelsea and Salzburg have created an exciting constellation in their group – Manchester City are almost in the round of 16 after a clear win against Copenhagen.

Group E: Neither team breaks away

Chelsea and Salzburg created tension in the group with their respective first wins. Salzburg are first with five points, followed by Chelsea and AC Milan with four points each. Dinamo Zagreb is last, but with three points they have only two fewer than leaders Salzburg.

Chelsea – AC Milan 3:0 (1:0)

Chelsea deservedly led 1-0 at the break, Wesley Fofana scoring the goal in the 24th minute. After the break, Chelsea continued to up the ante: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (56′) and Reece James (62′) made the decision.

Salzburg 1-0 Dinamo Zagreb (0-0)

Salzburg was the dominant team throughout the game. In the end, a penalty kick decided the game. Sadegh Moharrami brought down Andreas Ulmer, Noah Okafor safely converted the penalty (71′). In the exciting final phase, both teams still had good chances, but they didn’t score another goal.

Group F: Madrid clearly ahead, Leipzig no longer last

Real Madrid remain top of the table with an immaculate record and nine points. Shakhtar Donetsk is still second with four points. After the first win, RB Leipzig gave up the red lantern to Celtic (one point) with three points.

Madrid started strong and quickly took the deserved lead. Rodrygo scored in the follow-up (13′), Vinicius Junior ended a strong combination with the 2-0 (28′). Madrid missed numerous chances, so Donetsk came back: Oleksandr Zubkov scored in the visitors’ first real attack (39′). Madrid slacked off in the second half, but that didn’t change the result.

RB Leipzig – Celtic Glasgow 3: 1 (1: 0)

RB Leipzig had to accept an early serious injury to goalkeeper Peter Gulácsi (11th), but ultimately won the game. The goals were scored by Christopher Nkunku (27th minute) and twice by André Silva (64th/77th) for Leipzig. Jota scored for Celtic in the meantime to equalize (47th).

Group G: Preliminary decisions already made

Manchester City remains clearly ahead with their third win in three games, while Borussia Dortmund follows in second place with six points. The group is largely pre-decided, with Sevilla and Copenhagen clearly trailing by a point each.

Manchester City – FC Copenhagen 5: 0 (3: 0)

City quickly made things clear in a one-sided game. Erling Haaland twice (7’/33′) and an own goal by Davit Khotcholava (39′) made the break clear. In the second half, Riyad Mahrez (55th penalty) and Julián Álvarez (76th) scored the other goals.

FC Sevilla – Borussia Dortmund 1:3 (0:3)

Dortmund was consistently the better team. Raphaël Guerreiro (6′), Jude Bellingham (41′) and Karim Adeyemi (43′) ensured the clear score at the break, Sevilla were only briefly close to 1-1. After a corner, Sevilla scored another goal in the second half through Youssef En-Nesyri (51′), but Julian Brandt later increased it to 4-1 (75′).

Group H: Lisbon and PSG together in front

Paris remains ahead with Lisbon thanks to the draw, each with seven points. Juventus now have three points behind them, Haifa are still bottom without a point.

Benfica Lisbon 1-1 Paris Saint-Germain (1-1)

Benfica missed several good chances – which quickly punished PSG. A combination between Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé and Neymar completed Messi’s first shot on target to give Paris the lead. However, in a cross from the left, Danilo scored an own goal to equalize (42′) – in the second half neither team made the decision.

Juventus 3-1 Maccabi Haifa (1-0)

Haifa didn’t make it easy for Juventus for a long time, but Adrien Rabiot then scored the lead (35′). After the break, Dusan Vlahovic made it 2-0 (50′). At least Haifa managed to catch up, Din David scored after a remarkable pass from Tjaronn Chery (75′). Maccabi put pressure on without success, Juve headed through Rabiot after a corner to make it 3-1 (83 ‘).
