Salvatore Ferragamo’s reopening of the Frankfurt store

Salvatore Ferragamo has reopened the doors of his Frankfurt store after extensive renovations.

A “contemporary ambience” was created as part of the renovation work, including the use of a sculptural spiral staircase and handcrafted ceramic tables by Dutch artist Floris Wubben. In order to let “the colors, luxurious fabrics and refined cuts of the collection come to the fore”, a clear design language was also used in the interior design, the Italian fashion house announced last week.

Inspired by Salvatore Ferragamo’s 1938 rainbow sandal

The interior of the store, which extends over three levels, picks up on the colors of a shoe that is characteristic of Salvatore Ferragamo: a platform sandal whose wedge heel is streaked with rainbow colors. The sandal was designed by founder Salvatore Ferragamo in 1938 for American actress Judy Garland.

On the ground floor, where bags and accessories for women as well as accessories for men are presented, the red tones of the shoe can be found in the display window furniture. The ties in the men’s area are shown with a color gradation reminiscent of the sole of the shoe.

On the first floor is the department for women’s clothing, as well as other bags and accessories. Here, too, the tones of the shoe were integrated into the interior – light pink tones can be found in the furniture and carpets. The basement features men’s ready-to-wear, shoes and other accessories – presented against an interior design that echoes the blue tones of the shoe.

For the reopening, Ferragamo has launched a limited edition of the ‘Studio Bag’ dedicated to the German financial metropolis -– the shoulder strap of the bag features ‘Frankfurt’ lettering. The special edition, limited to ten copies, is available exclusively in the boutique at Goetheplatz. There are currently three other Salvatore Ferragamo stores in Germany: in Berlin, Hamburg and Munich.
