The exchange breakdown in FC Bayern’s 4-1 victory in Freiburg continues to cause discussions. Team manager Krüger showed a wrong number on the board – and twelve Munich were on the field. Now a Bayern boss expresses himself.
Bayern Munich’s sports director Hasan Salihamidzic has defended team manager Kathleen Krüger after Freiburg’s breakdown. “What happened happened as a result of several unfortunate circumstances.
As for Kathleen Krüger, we are all happy that she has been our team manager for years,” Salihamidzic told Munich’s “Merkur/tz”.
In the 4-1 win in Freiburg, Munich played with twelve men for 16 seconds in the 86th minute because Kingsley Coman had not left the field in time in a double substitution.
The confusion had apparently arisen because Krüger had accidentally entered Coman’s old shirt number 29 in the change display. The Frenchman is now playing with the 11. Freiburg protested against the rating of the game.
