In the middle of last week, FC Bayern announced that Thomas Tuchel would be leaving as coach. Afterwards he probably met Hasan Salihamidžić.
Last week, FC Bayern Munich announced that Thomas Tuchel would only be on the sidelines until the summer. The German record champions are looking for a new coach for the new season. Tuchel said about his departure from ZDF: “As an employee, you don’t always have all the options, you don’t always have all the trump cards in your hand. But it’s all good.”
It almost sounded as if Tuchel would have liked to remain coach in Munich. However, at a recent press conference, the coach also emphasized that he could now act more freely. According to Bild, he toasted to this freedom with friends in a French restaurant in Munich after his exit.
Friend, Salihamidžić and Tuchel were probably sitting together
Sports director Christoph Freund is also said to have been there. As the newspaper now reports, FC Bayern’s former sports director, Hasan Salihamidžić, was also on site. He is said to have come to the table with Tuchel.
Salihamidžić was sports boss at Säbener Straße from July 2020 to May 2023 and brought Tuchel to FC Bayern together with former CEO Oliver Kahn. The duo previously fired coach Julian Nagelsmann, even though he was still represented in all competitions with the club.
Salihamidžić and Kahn then had to leave the club together. Kahn was followed by Jan-Christian Dreesen. Max Eberl has been announced as Salihamidžić’s successor this week. He was introduced at a press conference on Tuesday.
