BVB spent five million euros last summer to free Salih Özcan from 1. FC Köln. A good investment: The Turkish international has quickly become a fixture in Dortmund’s midfield. Now he has drawn a first interim balance.
Salih Özcan has had eventful months at BVB. After an annoying foot injury in July, the 24-year-old had to fight his way into the starting XI at his new employer, but gradually the strong tackler cleared his way into the starting line-up under Borussia coach Edin Terzic.
He “had a difficult start at the very beginning”, Özcan looked at “sky“-Interview now back, but according to his own statements, the native of Cologne always felt comfortable in Dortmund.
The BVB six did not hide the fact that things could have gone better for him and his teammates. After 15 Bundesliga games, the Westphalians are only in a disappointing sixth place.

Özcan set the course for 2023. “Now we just have to keep to ourselves and do the best we can in the second half of the season,” demanded the right-footer.
