This is Max Verstappen’s salary
Max Verstappen is one of the (perhaps the) best Formula 1 driver at the moment and that also comes with a hefty price tag. As with the other multiple world champions; Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso and Sebastian Vettel. The price tag that now hangs on Max Verstappen is partly due to the new mega deal he concluded with his team Red Bull Racing. For example, Max has signed a new contract with Red Bull Racing, which means that he is tied to Red Bull until the end of 2028.
But what exactly does Max Verstappen earn? The exact amounts are never released by the teams and drivers, but are always reported by ‘sources’. The base salary of the Dutch champion is over €35 million per year and this does not include all the bonuses he earns. The amount Verstappen receives with bonuses is estimated at €45 to 50 million per year.
How big are the bonuses Max Verstappen receives?
Exactly how big all the bonuses are, differs per team and this is also something that teams do not flaunt. All teams prefer to keep money behind closed doors, but every now and then something slips. As indicated earlier, there are no exact amounts of what Verstappen may earn per bonus. There are rumors that Max Verstappen earns €1 million extra per victory. With a good season, this can quickly add up to a nice extra pocket money. It is estimated that Verstappen will have to earn €17 million extra in bonuses in the 2022 season.
