Saku Mäenalanen was unlucky and had to leave the game.
Been to win Olympic gold in Beijing Saku Mäenalanen experienced tough times in the World Cup general.
In the first exchange of the third installment, the Lions credit striker went to the end to tackle the Swedish pack Anton Lindholm. However, the Swede fell even before the contact, as a result of which Mäenalanen crashed into him.
The knee folded sadly in a hurry. Mäenalasen’s expression said the hit hurt. A couple of minutes later, the fly striker had to leave the locker room and he no longer played in the match.
It is not yet known how seriously Mäenalanen was injured. The Swedish match was the last before the World Cup starting next week, so the recovery time will be short.
Mäenalanen has played an important role in the Lions quadruple chain Hannes Björnisen and Marko Anttilan alongside.
Finland lost to Sweden in the Globen EHT match 3–4.
