Sad scoop in ‘Other People’s Business’: Kamal Kharmach can’t save a case for the first time | TV

TVKamal Kharmach (30) also wants to offer distressed companies a helpline in the second season of ‘Other People’s Affairs’. It’s just that it doesn’t always work out as expected. In Monday’s episode, he advised Meryam and Leyla van Fruithofje ML to close their fruit and vegetable store.

Meryam Boujamaa and Leyla Yachou opened the doors of their fruit and vegetable store Fruithofje ML in September 2020. Initially, the managers received a lot of family and friends over the floor, but little by little, some problems started to arise. After about three months, the ladies finally realized that something was not right.

Savings

The biggest problem turned out to be the location. Fruithofje ML was located on the Turnhoutsebaan, but despite the many houses in the area, there was a lack of parking. In addition, few pedestrians pass by and there were also seventeen other points of sale for fruit and vegetables in the area. As a result, turnover was not what it should have been. Meryam and Leyla collected 3,665 euros per month. Their monthly costs came down to 3,338. So in total there was 327 euros left to live on. “Actually, we needed 1,800 for that. To fill that gap, I deposited 1,500 euros in savings every month,” says Leyla.

Kamal Kharmach therefore had no choice but to advise to close the shop. There was, however, one small bright spot. The equipment from the store was sold, which brought in about 8,000 euros for the managers. The position of Meryam and Lelyla on the Antwerp markets was retained. The two ladies look back on this period in their lives with their heads held high. “We tried and we learned from it.”
