The 23-year-old Frenchman came to Säbener Straße from Galatasaray Istanbul for 30 million euros plus bonuses of five million – a record winter transfer. The symbol of his former club? The two know each other from their time together at Stade Rennes. “Sacha is a very bright boy who is bursting with energy. Very strong in duels and on the pitch a lot,” said sports director Christoph Freund, who is convinced “that he will be very good for our team.”
Boey caught the eye of Bayern and Christoph Freund positively, especially in the two duels in the group phase of the Champions League with Galatasaray. With that, Boey, so to speak, submitted his application to the Munich team.
