Sabu shoe group reports strong growth in 2022

The Heilbronn-based shoe retail group Sabu saw double-digit growth in order volume in the past financial year. After the Corona-related lockdowns in previous years, partner retailers have ordered more again.

Central settlement sales rose by 42 percent to 335 million euros in 2022, according to preliminary figures. The value of the orders placed with the partner suppliers by the affiliated shoe stores recovered to the level before Corona and was roughly the same as the sales from 2018, a spokeswoman said on the phone.

Proceeds increase again in the shoe trade

The proceeds from the partner dealers are also slowly recovering from the slumps during the pandemic. While their sales fell by 23.1 percent in 2020 compared to the previous year, they were able to increase again by 10.5 percent last year.

Part of the increase in central settlement sales is also due to the cooperation with the Swiss purchasing association Zusa from 2022. This contributed 21 million in additional volume. The number of affiliated shoe stores has increased by 8 percent from 1130 to 1230 as a result of the partnership.

Trade fair innovations

The business figures were presented last week at the Trends & Fashion trade fair, which Sabu Schuh & Marketing GmbH invites visitors to every February. This year, 150 labels were exhibited there and the preselected product range for work and safety shoes was also presented. It should help interested dealers in selecting products from this area. New training courses for employees of shoe stores were also presented.
