Sabitzer consultant: “Now see Marcel from Leipzig again”

Good start for Bayern loan

Marcel Sabitzer has played in all four league games for the “Red Devils” after his loan move from FC Bayern Munich to Manchester United. The midfielder, who was sidelined by the record champions, enjoys the confidence of coach Erik ten Hag in northern England and seems to have arrived in the Premier League within a few weeks. Adviser Roger Wittmann now commented on the current situation of his protégé, whose contract on Säbener Straße is valid until 2025.

Sabitzer started three times under his Dutch coach. After skepticism about the Austrian’s qualities arose immediately after the change – ex-professional and TV expert Paul Merson publicly described the 28-year-old as a “fourth-rate Bayern player” – the club supporters are now already calling for a Firm commitment louder. United legend Rio Ferdinand also expressly praised Sabitzer’s commitment following Merson’s criticism: “I am delighted with this transfer. If I had had to sign an Eriksen replacement at short notice, I would have gotten Sabitzer as well.”

Sabitzer’s advisor Roger Wittmann explained in an interview with “sports1“ that he was not surprised at the positive development of his client: “Marcel is a top player. It doesn’t surprise me at all that he’s performing so well so quickly. If you have as much experience as Marcel, whether in the Champions League or with more than 60 international matches, it doesn’t take long to find your way around a club like this and in a league like this.”

Sabitzer switched from RB Leipzig to FC Bayern in 2021 for a fee of 15 million euros, but was unable to assert himself with the record champions. Of his 40 Bundesliga appearances in an FCB jersey, he only played the full 90 minutes in three and contributed to four goals. “He loves this English hardness! It was clear from the start that the Premier League was a great fit for him. He’s an aggressive player. He does exactly what he can there. And that’s what’s in demand there,” says Wittmann about the reasons why the native of Wels found his way around the island immediately.

“At Manchester United we see Marcel from Leipzig again. I’m very happy for him,” said the agent. When asked about Sabitzer’s future and whether it was conceivable in England beyond the summer, Wittmann kept a low profile: “We’ll see when the time comes.”
