National basketball player Satou Sabally is no longer returning to her Chinese club Shandong Shangao BC because of the shoulder injury she suffered during Olympic qualification. Instead, the 25-year-old will stay in the USA until the start of the WNBA professional league season. Sabally announced this on social networks.
“My season in China is officially over due to my injury. I will remain in the States until May,” she wrote. Sabally sustained the injury two weeks ago in the 73:71 (39:35) win against hosts Brazil. The hard-fought victory brought the German team its first Olympic qualification.
