Co-favorite Aryna Sabalenka surprisingly failed in the quarterfinals of the highly endowed WTA tournament in Miami.
The Australian Open winner from Belarus lost 4-6, 4-6 to Romanian outsider Sorana Cirstea on Wednesday, who made it to a semi-final on the tour for the first time in ten years.
Sabalenka had previously not given a set in her three games. During the duel with Cirstea, second seeded Sabalenka let out her frustration and hit the court several times with her racket.
