No signing, but a late exit: FC Bayern sold Dutch midfielder Ryan Gravenberch to Liverpool shortly before the end of the transfer period in England.
The Reds announced the commitment of the 21-year-old late on Friday evening, according to media reports the transfer fee should be around 40 million euros.
Gravenberch switched from Ajax Amsterdam to Bayern in 2022 for 18.5 million euros, but had not been able to assert himself in the long term. He played 34 competitive games for the record champions and was only in the starting XI six times.
“There’s always more to a team than the starting eleven and Ryan made an important contribution to winning the league. He approached us wanting more consistent playing times, so we decided to make this transfer together with him,” said Bavaria’s CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen.
