Ryan Gravenberch confirms displeasure at Bayern Munich

FC Bayern paid 18.5 million euros for Ryan Gravenberch’s services last summer. The record of the 20-year-old Dutchman reads sobering at first glance: in 19 Bundesliga appearances, the midfielder was only once in the record champions’ starting XI, only three of his appearances lasted longer than 30 minutes, none longer than 45. The Dutch national player, whose market value has fallen by 5 million euros since moving from Ajax Amsterdam to Säbener Straße, had already announced in his home country at the beginning of April that he could imagine a premature change despite the contract running until 2027 – should nothing fundamentally happen change his playing time. “A year of training and playing at the highest level is nice and instructive. Although I also play, it’s mainly training. That has to change next season, then I really want to play weekly again,” Gravenberch said, explaining his claim and adding. “I haven’t spoken to the club’s management yet, so I’ll wait and see what happens. It is clear that this role does not correspond to my ideas.”
