Ryan Gosling as hitman: Netflix announces sequel to “The Gray Man”.

The critics nag, the audience is enthusiastic. The Russo Brothers’ The Gray Man may not win a film award, but Netflix shouldn’t care. The action flick is well received. So good that Netflix has agreed to both a sequel and a spin-off series.

Ryan Gosling will reprise his role as hitman “Sierra Six” in the sequel, while the Russo brothers will return to direct. So far, however, nothing is known about the plot. No actors have been chosen for the planned spin-off series, Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, who already wrote the script for “Zombieland”, are said to be working on a screenplay.

The Gray Man universe was always planned

In a statement, Anthony and Joe Russo thanked fans for the positive feedback on The Gray Man. “We are so grateful for the excitement that fans around the world have for this film,” the message began. It was always intended that “The Gray Man” should be part of an expanded universe. We can talk about the script for the sequel soon.

“The Gray Man” is said to have cost around 200 million dollars, making it the most expensive Netflix film of all time. Ana de Armas, Chris Evans and Regé Jean-Page also star alongside Ryan Gosling. The film has been available on Netflix since July 22nd.
