Ruud de Wild seems to be very concerned about Youp van ‘t Hek’s criticism of his ‘vain’ trip to the earthquake zone in Turkey. He speaks in an angry response of ‘elitist bullshit’.
Most people already expected it, but it is now really a fact: hardly anyone is interested in the real-life soap of media figures Olcay Gulsen and Ruud de Wild. Their own series on flagship NPO 1 has mercilessly flopped and critics expect that the viewing figures will only fall.
Vain amusement
Olcay and Ruud are accused by critics of being huge ego trippers. Comedian Youp van ‘t Hek has thoroughly written the two into the ground. “Vain glee”, he calls the visit of these two to the earthquake zone in Turkey.
The comedian: “Inspired by a cool showbiz set, I thought: I’ll go with the next disaster too. I’m just going there. What am I going to do? To look. Also with my wife.”
And after that? On a talk show! “I will take a serious look at it and later declare that I did not keep it dry there.”
Ruud responds
That criticism has also reached Ruud. He says to shrug his shoulders. “As a radio producer, I know that people either like you or not. And you don’t do it right more often than you do,” he says NU.nl.
Ruud then: “Olcay and I are often fucked. Like recently, when we traveled to Turkey to help in the area affected by the earthquake.”
‘Elitist bullshit!’
Then it turns out that Ruud is indeed bothered by Youp’s swipe. He can’t suppress his annoyance and lashes out at the comedian.
“When I see what we have achieved in Turkey, I don’t give a shit about the elitist bullshit of such a Youp van ‘t Hek.”
