It’s finally over: the real life soap by Ruud de Wild and Olcay Gulsen. And that’s a good thing, according to the men of Today Inside. “Why is Wilfred Genee mad at me?!”
Ruud de Wild and Olcay Gulsen went down ingloriously last night with their real life soap. Only 264 thousand people (6 percent market share) watched the last episode of Ruud & Olcay, which is 73 percent below the latest weekly average of NPO 1: an outright disgrace.
VI is stunned
The men of Today Inside are stunned that Ruud is beating around so terribly and lashing out at all his critics. “He is really just upset, isn’t he, that Ruud?” says René van der Gijp.
Wilfred Genee: “I assume it’s our turn after today, because it’s everyone’s turn now.”
Johan Derksen: “He hates the whole of the Netherlands.”
Wilfred: “He is angry with everyone now.”
René: “He is upset, man.”
Slack excuse
Wilfred: “It did very well online, they say.”
Johan: “Yes, but I always find that such an excuse… When such a program flops, they always say: ‘Yes, but online it did very well.’ Whatever.”
According to viewing figures expert Tina Nijkamp, it is a lie that it scored well online, but Ruud will not want to hear that either. René: “I didn’t think he was one of those guys who was completely off his feet when faced with a bit of adversity. You?”
Wilfred: “No, but it’s everyone’s turn now. Olcay is also angry.”
Johan: “He is really oversimplified. It’s really immature behavior.”
Oily and naive
Job Knoester does not understand the two. “Isn’t it stupid and naive that you are going to do that, but then can’t handle criticism? Then why don’t you start it? That’s weird isn’t it? You can count on criticism if you are going to do something like that, right?”
Wilfred: “Yes, but even Youp van ‘t Hek has been hit hard. I think he’s been crying at home.”
Johan: “Yes, Youp should keep his mouth shut. It’s just a form of overconfidence. There are four of us here, but we have to admit that not much is happening behind our front door, right? I find their reactions even crazier than the fact that they make that program. They are grown people.”
‘Wilfred is furious’
Ruud, who now even tries to blacken his critics with disgusting accusations, feels attacked by everyone. He says on the radio: “I totally understand why Wilfred Genee is furious with me and Boulevard is furious with me and people are furious with me for doing this ridiculous program.”
“And that they are furious… Daphne Bunskoek too, that she is furious with me. Because of course it’s really a shame what I’ve done here. I did a television show and it’s ridiculous! Who do I think I am?”
