For Rutger Castricum it is still a bit of exploring at Today Inside: as a new regular guest he still exudes some discomfort. According to critics, he mainly tries to laugh a lot. And it is precisely this that arouses enormous annoyance at Victor Vlam, who is well on his way to becoming the country’s most feared media connoisseur.

‘Ingestion at Johan’

Victor is therefore completely annoyed with Rutger, he confesses in the podcast The Communicados. “I am really annoyed with that guy. It started with mild irritation. I was throwing tomatoes at my television, so to speak. I got really furious. That fake smile is really terrible of him. ‘Ha ha ha ha’, really high.”

He can’t stand that fake smile. “That I think: Rutger, stop it! It’s exaggerated, it’s high. It’s that you think: stop it. And what it comes from is that he really just wants to lick himself in with Johan Derksen. He is mucusing a lot.”

“A ribbon?!”

What, according to Victor, is the most striking example of his observation that Rutger is swallowing himself? “He has argued that Johan Derksen should receive a ribbon. If that isn’t swallowing, I don’t know what is.”

He continues: “Even the audience, because there was no response from the audience… So when he says this is meant as a joke: nobody was laughing, Rutger. It was just a totally ridiculous comment.”

For shelter

Rutger has really slipped, says Victor. “The sad thing about Rutger is that he was once the one who embarrassed others, now he’s the one who constantly embarrasses himself because he doesn’t know how to behave.”

He continues: “That is exactly the problem when Job Cohen was interviewed by Rutger Castricum. Job Cohen couldn’t give himself an attitude, now Rutger Castricum can’t give himself an attitude. It really is the tragedy of his career. Sorry, but I find him really mega-irritating.”
