‘Rust’ creators fined for negligence after fatal shooting incident with Alec Baldwin | Movie

The fine amounts to more than 139,000 dollars (128,000 euros). Not only was safety on set not taken seriously. There was also an “indifference” to the risks employees ran as a result. The study was conducted by the New Mexico Environment Department, which includes workplace safety.

Actor Alec Baldwin shot the camerawoman during rehearsals on set in New Mexico in October and injured director Joel Souza. He did so with a weapon he didn’t know was loaded. The gun, which served as a prop, had not been properly checked beforehand.

Police are still conducting their own investigation.
