Rogozin said on Twitter that the West wants “with the sanctions to destroy the Russian economy and plunge the Russians into despair and hunger, to bring Russia to its knees. They will not succeed, but they have made their intention known.” According to Rogozin, all “illegal sanctions” against Russia must be removed from the table before normal relations and cooperation around the ISS and other projects can be established. The Roscosmos boss said he has made proposals to the Kremlin to end cooperation with the foreign parties involved in the ISS.
For example, the European space agency ESA last month suspended its collaboration with Roscosmos over a mission to Mars, ExoMars. But an American astronaut and two Russian colleagues returned to Earth as planned from the ISS on Wednesday, in Kazakhstan.
