Russia’s Natalia Antjuh losing her London Olympic gold

The 400-meter hurdles Olympic champion Natalja Antjuh loses the gold he won in London 2012 due to a doping violation. The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU), which supervises the ethics of athletics, deleted all of the woman’s results from July 2012 until June of the following year.

Antjuh used a prohibited substance or method during the aforementioned period. Thus, the United States Lashinda Deamus the silver medal becomes gold ten years later.

The international court of appeals for sports, CAS, gave the runner a four-year ban from competition for a doping violation already last year. Then all competition results from June 2013 until April 2021 were rejected.

Antjuh has also won Olympic bronze in 400 meters in 2004 and silver in the 400 meters relay four years later. He lost the relay silver in 2012 because his teammate Antonina Krivošapka was accused of doping.

Antjuh is yet another name added to the long list. Several other Russian athletes have also lost their medals from the 2012 Olympics. Among other things, the 800-meter Olympic champion Maria Savinova and won gold in the height Ivan Uhov have previously been accused of doping.
