The SuperJob job search service conducted a survey in which residents of large Russian cities listed the key events of the year in their locality. The report on the results of the study was received by RBC.

“Among the key events, residents of large cities named elections to the State Duma and local authorities, the All-Russian Population Census, social payments to pensioners and families with children,” the study says, but the most popular options in most cases turned out to be regional rather than federal. events and processes.

Residents of Moscow, St. Petersburg (1500 people), Volgograd, Voronezh, Yekaterinburg, Irkutsk, Kazan, Krasnoyarsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Perm, Rostov-on-Don, Samara and Saratov, Ulyanovsk, Ufa, Chelyabinsk (by 500 people). The survey was conducted from December 1 to 18 among the economically active population of these cities over 18 years old. The question was: “What event, besides the coronavirus epidemic, that occurred in your city in 2021, do you consider the most significant?”

The first three significant events, depending on the city, are as follows:

  • Moscow: elections to the State Duma, by-elections to the Moscow City Duma and electronic voting; vaccination; “Political events” (media announcements by foreign agents, rallies, the case of Alexei Navalny, etc.).
  • Saint Petersburg: festive events (Scarlet Sails, 200th anniversary of Dostoevsky, Navy Day, etc.), sports (Euro 2020, the Champions League, the victory of the Zenit football club in the Russian championship), elections to the State Duma and the Legislative Assembly.
  • Volgograd: road construction and repair, city improvement, city day.
  • Voronezh: improvement of the city, holidays (city day, anniversary of Gagarin’s flight), introduction of QR codes.
  • Yekaterinburg: road construction and repair, elections to the State Duma and Legislative Assembly, vaccination against COVID.
  • Irkutsk: road construction and repair, natural disasters (flood, waterlogging, earthquake), introduction of QR codes.
  • Kazan: improvement of the city, Sabantuy, mass shooting in gymnasium No. 175.
  • Krasnodar: improvement of the city, construction and repair of roads, elections to the State Duma.
  • Krasnoyarsk: improvement of the city, construction and repair of roads, elections to the State Duma and Legislative Assembly.
