Russians bomb Ukrainian city of Zaporizhia: father and 11-year-old daughter killed, fuel depot destroyed | War Ukraine and Russia

In Zaporizhia, southeastern Ukraine, a 50-year-old man and his 11-year-old daughter were killed in a Russian bombing raid on their home. This is reported by the Ukrainian authorities. The series of explosions killed one other person and injured five people.

Russia has been attacking Zaporizhia for several days. According to Mayor Anatoli Kurtyev, two Russian missiles landed in a residential area yesterday and damaged several houses, including that of the man and his daughter. The 11-year-old girl died in an ambulance, it sounds.

The 46-year-old mother of the family survived the bombing. Rescuers were able to pull her out alive from the rubble. The eldest daughter of the family was not home at the time of the attack.

Andriy Yermak, the chief of staff of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, posted a photo of the destroyed house on his Telegram channel. “The accursed Russian terrorists attacked Zaporizhia again,” he wrote. He also called the Russians “mean beasts”.

Russia’s Defense Ministry also says it destroyed a depot containing 70,000 tons of fuel near Zaporizhia. It also says that Russian troops destroyed Ukrainian army depots for missiles, ammunition and other artillery in the Zaporizhia and Donetsk regions.

Zaporizhia is one of four Ukrainian regions that Moscow illegally annexed after its invasion at the end of February last year. The Russians, on the other hand, do not control the regional capital of the same name.
