The 29-year-old was retrospectively banned for two years from March 9, 2021 for taking banned substances and violating the anti-doping rules of the World Athletics Federation, the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) said. The athlete accepted the punishment.

Lashmanova’s violations were uncovered in the course of investigations into Russian state doping. Therefore, Lashmanova was also stripped of all results between February 18, 2012 and January 3, 2014, including the results at the Olympic Games in London and the World Championships in Moscow each over 20 kilometers.

Lashmanowa was also convicted of taking the muscle-building drug Endurobol in the summer of 2014 and was banned for two years.
