Russian troops regroup and prepare new attack in Donbas, according to Kiev | Abroad

Russian forces are regrouping in eastern Ukraine to continue their offensive in the Donbas region. Kiev reports this, but the information could not yet be independently confirmed.

“In the Kramatorsk region, the enemy has regrouped to resume its attacks on Siversk,” the General Staff said today. Kramatorsk was also fired upon, it sounds. The northern part of the agglomeration, Slovyansk, is again a target of the Russians. There, the Russians tried to use artillery fire to improve their tactical position in a number of villages north of the city in order to resume the attack, the general staff said.

Fighting is also taking place near Bakhmoet, an important traffic junction. Among other things, there were air strikes on a thermal power plant, the Ukrainian army said. According to that army, the Russians mainly want to conquer the cities of Bakhmut and Soledar.

According to the general staff, the Ukrainian armed forces were also able to stop attacks. “The occupiers encountered fierce resistance, suffered significant losses and had to disgracefully withdraw,” it said. This was the case, for example, in Bilohorivka and the villages of Vershyna and Spirne.
