Russian troops hand out Russian passports in southern Ukraine

Russian troops will be handing out Russian passports from Saturday in Zaporizhzhya, a region in southeastern Ukraine, and in Kherson in the south of the country. Whoever receives a Russian passport is considered a full-fledged Russian citizen. Vladimir Rogov of the occupation authority in Zaporizhzhya told Russian broadcaster Rossiya-24 on Friday. According to Rogov, more than 70,000 people in the region have applied for passports.
