Russian Parliament forbids criticism of ‘volunteers’ in war: “Up to fifteen years in prison”

The Russian parliament has voted in favor of a bill that would also make it a criminal offense to discredit “groups of volunteers” who often fight as mercenaries in war. The proposal is in addition to existing legislation which provides for strict penalties for discrediting the armed forces.
