Russian Olympic hero who lost his leg made it home – Went to the gym

Ice dance Olympic champion Roman Kostomarov fought all winter for his life. The problems that started with pneumonia put the man in a coma and in a hospital bed for months. The Russian ended up losing both his legs and parts of his hands, but survived.

Kostomarov, who turned 46, was able to return home in July. He received prosthetic legs in the hospital, which apparently do not prevent him from going to the gym. Kostomarov shared a video on social media in which he sits on a thigh-strengthening device.

– Like a mother who has just given birth, I train my hip adductor muscles, the Torino Olympic champion commented in a short video.

You can also see from the training video that both of Kostomarov’s hands are completely bandaged. The left hand bandage separates the place of the thumb, but the fingers of the right hand are missing.

Kostomarov was treated in Moscow for months. In the video published by Somee, he gives a speech of thanks in front of the nursing staff of the hospital and makes the audience laugh for a while.

Earlier, Kostomarov posted videos of his workouts in the hospital gym on his social media channels.
