Russian mercenary boss swears revenge after Moscow attack

Russian mercenary army chief Wagner claims Russian troops attacked his fighters in Ukraine. Wagner camps in the occupied part of Ukraine are said to have been fired on with rockets, resulting in a huge number of deaths. Yevgeny Prigozhin vows revenge against the Russian military leadership. Evil must be stopped, says the Wagner leader in a message.

With his latest statements, Prigozhin takes another step forward in his persistent criticism of Defense in Moscow. In a response, the ministry denies attacking Wagner fighters.

In a previously distributed message, the Wagner boss claims that the Russian political and military top is “deeply misleading” the Russian people. They state that Ukraine is having a hard time with its counter-offensive, but according to Prigozhin it is the other way around. The Ukrainian armed forces would push the Russians back at Zaporizhia and Kherson. “We are bathed in blood,” he says in a video on Telegram.

Wagner plays an important role in the Russian invasion of Ukraine, such as in the conquest of the city of Bachmut. But Prigozhin has long complained about the lack of support from Moscow.
