Aleksandr Rutskoy (75), who served as President Boris Yeltsin’s deputy, has lashed out at the current Russian president, as you can watch in the video above. He says the invasion should never have happened. He accuses Vladimir Putin of “senselessly” killing tens of thousands of Russian soldiers who have been used as “cannon fodder” in the war.

Rutskoy, also a former Soviet general, says Putin made a fool of himself by being surrounded by “incompetent military leaders” prior to the invasion of Ukraine.
LOOK. Former Russian Vice President Explains Why Putin Is Ridiculous

If the armed forces are not able to carry out strategic offensive operations, then it is better not to try, especially outside your own country
He also believes that the invasion should never have happened. “If the armed forces are not able to carry out strategic offensive operations, then it is better not to try, especially outside your own country,” Rutskoy explained.
“Why is this happening? Because from a military point of view, we have no strategic planning. The president always declares his goals, but they are not realized. He’s ridiculous.”
“Everything that is happening today can be explained by the fact that our armed forces are unable to carry out strategic offensive operations. Why….? For a quarter of a century, the armed forces have been led by incompetent, downright incompetent people.
“The result is the massacre in Ukraine. This is a tragedy for our country. This is a tragedy because so many people are dying. And that is pointless. What are they dying for? Who has the right to take a father away from his children? Who has the right to take sons from mothers and fathers. Nobody,” concludes Rutskoy.
