Russia tests new nuclear missile at remote Arctic base: Putin speaks of success

Russia has successfully tested a new nuclear missile. President Vladimir Putin announced this. Satellite images and flight data analyzed by the newspaper ‘The New York Times’ had previously pointed in that direction. The ‘Boerevestnik’ or ‘Stormbird’ – also called ‘Skyfall’ in the West – is, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense, a super weapon: it is equipped with a nuclear engine giving it an unlimited range, it can carry a nuclear warhead and it is capable of outwitting all existing anti-aircraft defenses.
