Russia returns to telecommuting and telecommuting to contain Omicron

In Russia, 6,000 people were hospitalized per day, which is almost 4 percent less than the day before. A little more than 21 thousand have recovered. Coronavirus COVID-19 was picked up by another 65 thousand people. There is an active vaccination campaign going on in the country. There are long queues at the vaccination points. Many come already for a booster. The regions are returning to telecommuting and telecommuting in order to somehow contain the “omicron”.

Looks like an allergy. “Omicron” can now be confused not only with colds and SARS. With positive tests for coronavirus, those with seemingly normal conjunctivitis, British physicians say. In Rospotrebnadzor that “omicron” can penetrate the human body through the eyes, they said even when the delta variant progressed. So conjunctivitis can be a signal not only to the Omicron strain.

“The descriptions included those clinical cases when the only manifestation of the coronavirus still delta variant was conjunctivitis. It was that the person fell ill easily. But theoretically virus through the eyes, it can disappear into the upper and then into the lower respiratory tract,” says Natalya Pshenichnaya, deputy director for clinical and analytical work of the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor.

Polyclinics of the capital work in emergency mode – twelve hours a day, and now – seven days a week. The teams of doctors on duty have been strengthened in order to have time to receive everyone. Rapid tests in polyclinics are done almost right at the entrance, so that, for example, a person with a common cold and a patient with coronavirus do not get into the same room. At the vaccination points there are queues for a free express test.

In the capital’s vaccination rooms – mostly those who have already been vaccinated, and more than once. They come for a booster. Dmitry Molchanov chose Sputnik Light.

“We heard about Omicron. But there are no worries, because it is vaccinated. The family is vaccinated. Everyone is vaccinated. Now the only one is a child. But he will also be vaccinated. We are waiting for Sputnik M,” says Dmitry Molchanov.

Here is the same “Sputnik M” laid out in pharmaceutical refrigerators in the Sverdlovsk region. The first 2,400 doses of vaccine for adolescents have already begun to be distributed to children’s hospitals. From day to day, a vaccine for the category of 12-17 years old is expected in Tyumen.

“We are also expecting a vaccine for adolescents aged 12-17 in the near future and have already begun a dialogue with parents in schools. Because parental consent is needed. My daughter is 17 years old. My wife and I have discussed whether we will agree to her vaccination,” says the governor of the Tyumen region Alexander Moor.

In polyclinic No. 5 of Yakutsk, the queue to the therapist stretched over several floors. The authorities are already saying that such a surge in the incidence is “an unbearable burden for the primary link.” Voluntary mobilization of doctors and nurses has been announced. From tomorrow, the scientific community is joining – doctors of medical sciences, professors will help call-center operators to advise by phone.

“At the moment, healthcare institutions of the republic need help. First of all, in the provision of medical care by those doctors who have both higher and secondary medical education and do not work in their specialty at the moment. Voluntary mobilization,” notes the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Sakha ( Yakutia) Olga Balabkina.

With an oxygen cylinder on his shoulder, doctors deliver another patient to the “red zone” of the regional hospital No. 2 of Vladivostok.

In this ward is Tatyana Osipova. She has been here again, lung damage – 60 percent. After the first hospitalization, it was not possible to get back on his feet.

“The first time I was discharged after the first course of treatment, and the process of recovery went badly. As a result, I fell ill for the second time,” says Tatyana Osipova.

In Yugra, patients are ready to undergo computed tomography both on weekends and at night, 24/7. And you can get an appointment with a doctor even late in the evening.

“On Sunday, we registered 1,280 new cases of a new coronavirus infection, so the load increased primarily on polyclinics. Additional medical teams, additional paramedic teams, and additional ambulance teams were trained,” the director of the Health Department of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Ugra comments on the situation. Alexey Dobrovolsky.

Arkhangelsk region from today – at a distance. So far, partly – a third of the employees of enterprises.

“With the new Omicron strain, only about 20 percent of us end up in hospitals. Therefore, we can say that Omicron is getting sick more easily today. But nevertheless, the number of cases, of course, is growing every day.” , – emphasizes the governor of the Arkhangelsk region Alexander Tsybulsky.

Category 60+ switches to remote work in the Kaluga region. Mass events with more than fifty people were temporarily banned.

“In order to relieve tension and give people the opportunity to get help as soon as possible, without waiting, if there is no urgent need for a doctor to arrive, with the help of volunteers, on the first day people seek help, we provide them with free medicines and rapid tests, if necessary,” – says the governor of the Kaluga region Vladislav Shapsha.

The governor of the Moscow region Andrei Vorobyov called the load on the primary link prohibitive. The number of doctor’s house calls has grown to 50,000 per day – dozens of times.

“Yesterday or the day before yesterday we had a peak of 57 thousand calls. In this regard, we attracted additional forces. We asked one hundred students to work,” says Governor of the Moscow Region Andrey Vorobyov.

Polyclinics of the Moscow region will also work according to the “capital regime” – seven days a week, from 8 am to 8 pm. And in Moscow, Sunday school classes are being transferred to an online format in those churches where there are especially many students.

“We are not talking about a restriction in holding services. We are talking about holding extra-liturgical parish activities that are associated with the presence of a large number of people in one place,” explains Alexander Volkov, chairman of the Information Commission of the Moscow Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church.

Church services will continue as usual. Sanitary control has been strengthened there.
