Published rating of European countries in terms of unemployment. Citizens of the Czech Republic have the least problems with employment. The highest unemployment is in Spain and Greece. Russia is in 10th place. A year ago, she was in 18th position.
The rating was compiled by experts RIA Newswho analyzed data from 34 countries. Pandemic fears are fading away, just like the era of strict lockdowns, and experts expected an upswing in the economy and, consequently, employment. But the real situation surpassed even optimistic expectations: more than a third of cases recorded a decrease in unemployment – and it fell even more than it was before the pandemic coronavirus COVID-19.
In the Czech Republic, where unemployment is the lowest, the share of citizens looking for work is 2.2 percent. Also, low unemployment was noted in Germany, Poland and Malta.
Low unemployment means that there is a shortage in the labor market. On the one hand, it is easier for people to find work and a good salary, but on the other hand, low unemployment can limit economic growth, since there may simply not be enough staff to expand the service or production sector.
The highest unemployment rate is in Spain: 13.4 percent of its inhabitants are looking for work. In Greece, this figure is 13.2, in Ukraine – 9.6. It is also bad with work in Italy (9.1%), Sweden (8.3%), France (7.5%).
In Russia, the share of the unemployed is 4.3 percent is 3220000 people. The same is true in the UK. They are followed by Slovenia – 4.7 percent.
