Russia conquers Ukrainian village of Lastochkyne
The village of Lastochkyne in eastern Ukraine has fallen into Russian hands. The Russian state news agency TASS reports on Monday that the village has been “liberated”, and a Ukrainian army spokesman confirmed, according to the Reuters news agency, that Ukrainian soldiers have withdrawn from the village.
Lastochkyne is located a few kilometers from Avdiivka, which Russia captured earlier this month. Both places are located in the eastern Donetsk region. Ukraine is setting up a new defense line a few kilometers west of Lastochkyne, the army spokesman said.
