Russia accuses US of preparing “provocation” in Ukraine “with toxic substances that cause psychosis” | War Ukraine and Russia

The Russian Defense Ministry has once again accused the United States of a so-called ‘false flag’ operation. This time the US would prepare a “provocation” with toxic chemicals in Ukraine “and then blame it on Russia”.

The statement was made this morning by Igor Kirillov, the head of the radiation, chemical and biological protection forces (RCBZ) in the Russian army. This is reported by Russian state news agencies. It’s not the first time the lieutenant general has said something like that.

The chemical, “which causes acute psychosis and hallucinations,” was delivered by rail car to Kramatorsk, eastern Ukraine, on Feb. 10, according to the Russians. That would happen under the guidance of “foreign citizens” and under the supervision of the Ukrainian secret service and the Ukrainian army.

Metal boxes

Those involved would have dragged sixteen sealed metal boxes to the local metallurgical plant. “Half wore a chemical hazard sign, the inscription BZ and a marking with two red lines, indicating a class of toxic substances,” it sounds. Russia’s defense ministry also said NATO is preparing to supply Ukraine with 600,000 doses of the antidote itself.

According to Kirillov, an influential US non-governmental organization held a meeting on February 22 about the events in Ukraine. At that event, former US ambassador to Russia, John Sullivan, issued a statement saying that “Russian forces intend to use chemical weapons in the special military operations zone.”

“We consider this information to be the intention of the US and its accomplices to carry out a provocation in Ukraine using toxic chemicals,” Kirillov said.

Moscow has accused the US of something similar before. In March last year, Russian media reported that the Americans had labs all over Ukraine secretly producing chemical weapons. The claim was conclusively refuted by fact-checkers.

Invasion

However, Russia itself has already planted several ‘false flags’ in the war. Two days before the invasion, for example, with images of an alleged Ukrainian attack on civilians in the already occupied Donbas. The vehicle turned out to be from a junkyard and the dead from a morgue.
