The climate gluers have come up with a new tactic with the so-called run blockades. The goal: less confrontation and aggression from drivers than with the usual adhesive blockades.
In the past few months, violence against the climate chaos has boiled over. The stickers were pulled from the road by their hair and their hands were stepped on.
The intention to de-escalate here now: right. But instead of de-escalation, the new tactic sounds more like further provocation.
The risk of something worse happening remains.
And it is also clear from the climate-glue agreements: The running blockades are only a short stop for moderate protesters – they too are supposed to stick to the street at some point.
