Run on rapeseed oil from Geert Lindenhols from Zuidwolde, but regular customers go first

The large shortage of sunflower oil is causing extra pressure for Geert Lindenhols from Zuidwolde. The man who sells several of his own products under Geerts Best has seen the demand for his rapeseed oil increase sharply. “Suddenly so many companies want to buy rapeseed oil from me, but I let my regular customers come first.

He has already had several requests, including from large companies. Due to the war in Ukraine, including the largest exporter of sunflower oil, a large shortage has arisen in the Netherlands. “We will continue to supply the approximately 160 rural and delicatessen shops in our country. We also supply oil for making vegetarian snacks. I had that customer on the phone one morning before eight o’clock, two hours later his truck was driving ahead to collect 5000 liters of rapeseed oil. Otherwise his line would stand still.”

Lindenhols has already delivered a thousand bags of pasta, partly made from field bean flour, to refugees and two oil conversion kits for tractors went to Ukraine itself. “And because of the war, bottles for oil as well as pallets are already on the receipt. In my career I did not expect that I would experience all this again.”
