The streaming service HBO Max will be discontinued. The reason for the termination is that the HBO Max and Discovery Plus services are merging. It will be replaced by a new streaming service called Max.

Iltalehti previously reported on rumors told by insiders, which have now been confirmed. Reported about it Verge.

The new service will be available in the US on May 23. The service will come to the rest of the world later in 2024. With the reform, HBO Max’s user profiles, viewing history and subscriber information will be transferred to Max automatically.

The aim of the merger is to increase the total number of orders, as well as a wider content to match the competitors’ offerings. The biggest competitors for Max are Netflix, Amazon and Disney plus.
