Ruinerwold residents fear traffic increase due to business park expansion

Due to the expansion of the Hoge Akkers, the objectors believe that traffic congestion is increasing. They therefore want the municipality to look at the total picture. The current traffic situation at Bledenstein must be resolved and the expansion of the business park must not aggravate the problems. The group therefore wants the previously announced study to examine all dilemmas at once.

“As has been emphasized several times by the municipal council, it is of great importance that the opening up of Hoge Akkers and therefore of Ruinerwold as a whole is tackled. That is not the case now. While this, in view of the urgency and the speed with which the The municipality wants a structural solution to the traffic problem at Bledenstein, is a very logical moment.”

The local residents hope for a new southern opening of the village and Hoge Akkers to the N375 in order to relieve Bledenstein. Until then, a maximum speed of 30 kilometers per hour should apply on part of the road, they believe. The municipality has already indicated that it does not see any possibilities for this.

“There is a very clear assignment from the council to the municipal executive to get started on a new southern access to the Hoge Akkers industrial estate. In the draft zoning plan and the responses of the municipality to questions and concerns with regard to opening up the Hoge Akkers, no justice is done to this given assignment.”
