After Neidhart’s farewell
Rüdiger Rehm is back at Waldhof Mannheim. 22 years after retiring as a player, the 44-year-old takes over the post of head coach, which had been vacant since Christian Neidhart split. At the SVW he finds “a good basic structure”, emphasized Rehm. “A lot of preliminary work” had already been done. Most recently, the former promotion coach of SV Wehen Wiesbaden was responsible for FC Ingolstadt. Rehm had to resign there at the beginning of the year.
“In the past two weeks we have sounded out the coaching market very meticulously and weighed up the options for SV Waldhof Mannheim 07,” said sporting director Tim Schork. “Our goal was to find a coach who can identify 100 percent with the club and the entire environment. Not only as a player at SV Waldhof, but also in recent years as a coach, Rüdiger embodies a lot of passion, conviction and intensity. We need these values on and off the field.”
